Fix A Leak Product Description

Fix A Leak is a blended-concentrated material designed to seal minor leaks in swimming pools losing up to 1 inch in a 24-hour period. It is effective for leaks up to 1/8 inch in diameter. One 32 oz. bottle is sufficient for 22,000 gallons (100,000 liters).

The product is mainly used for leaks in plumbing lines, where circulation is needed to carry the product to the leak. Pressure forces the product through the leak.

It can also be effective for hairline cracks in the floor of concrete or gunite pools. Being heavier than water, it will settle to the bottom.

Can be used for pinhole leaks in inground vinyl liner pools.

The longevity of the seal depends on foot traffic on the pool bottom. In most cases, it forms a long-lasting seal.

Return Line Repair Instructions

  1. Determine water loss in a 24-hour period.
  2. Immerse the bottle in hot water for 10–15 minutes. Shake well before use.
  3. Fill the pool to its original level and mark the waterline.
  4. Bypass the filter before adding Fix A Leak.
  • Sand Filter: Set to "recirculate".
  • Cartridge Filter: Remove cartridges.
  • DE Filter: Remove elements and run water through the empty tank.
  1. With the pump running, add Fix A Leak slowly through the skimmer or other suction intake.
  2. Adjust suction to the main drain, or use a vacuum in the deepest part connected to standard vacuum line.
  3. Stir Fix A Leak back into suspension every 4–6 hours using a broom or automatic cleaner.
  4. Continue circulating until the leak stops.
  5. Mark the water level and monitor for 2–3 days.
  6. After the leak stops and 24–48 hours have passed, return to normal filtration.
  • Sand Filter: Return to "filter" mode. Backwash unused product as needed.
  • Other Filters: Reinstall elements and rinse out unused product.

Note: Never allow DE cartridges to dry before cleaning.

Note: Treatment can be repeated if necessary.

Suction Side Repair Instructions

This repair requires temporary plumbing, a submersible pump, and a large container.

  1. Determine 24-hour water loss.
  2. Warm the bottle for 15 minutes. Shake well.
  3. Place submersible pump in the container. Disconnect problem skimmer/drain at the pool pump.
  4. Create a closed loop with plumbing from pump to skimmer/drain and back into container.
  5. Fill container and circulate water for 1 hour to measure water loss.
  6. Refill container, mark waterline, and add one bottle of Fix A Leak.
  7. Circulate for 4–6 hours or until leak stops.
  8. Allow 72 hours to cure.
  9. Flush the lines with clean water.
  10. Reconnect lines to pool pump and resume normal operation.

Important: You must reverse the water flow to force Fix A Leak through the leak with pressure (5–10 psi). Once sealed, raise to 15–25 psi to ensure seal integrity.

Simplified Homeowner Suction Side Repair Instructions

This method is for homeowners without the ability to create a closed loop system.

Immerse bottle in hot water for 10–15 minutes and shake well.

With the pump off, pour 1/2 to 1/3 of the bottle into the skimmer. Turn on pump for 2 seconds to push product into the line. Turn pump off. Pour in the rest and leave for 3 days.

This simulates reverse flow and works in about 70% of cases.

The line must remain filled with water. Product must not be exposed to air, or it will harden prematurely.

This method is most effective when the leak is on the bottom of the line, as Fix A Leak sinks.

Final Notes

VERY IMPORTANT: After sealing a suction leak, leave the suction off for at least 48 hours for curing.

Miscellaneous Leaks: Shut down the pump. Apply Fix A Leak directly to suspected leak areas using a squeeze bottle. Wait 48 hours before restarting circulation.

Precaution: Keep out of reach of children. Can cause severe eye/skin irritation. Avoid contact. Harmful if swallowed. Do not contaminate food. Rinse empty container thoroughly.

First Aid: Flush eyes/skin with water for 15 minutes. Contact physician if needed. If swallowed, drink milk, egg whites, or gelatin solution—if unavailable, drink plenty of water. Seek medical help.

Home delivery prices

The shipping cost throughout Europe is calculated according to the rates set by the courier service. 

Before delivering the goods, the courier will arrange an acceptable delivery time for you by phone (working days Mon-Fri 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.).

Delivery costs are not included in the price of the product specified in the online store.

Collection of goods

When receiving the delivered goods, please, check the condition of the shipment (packaging), make sure that the packaging is not deformed or damaged. If you suspect that the package has been damaged or deformed, do not sign the package documents and return the package to the courier. If the package is in order, then sign the invoice (bill of lading) or other shipment transfer-acceptance document. The signed document is proof that the ordered goods were delivered to you.

When purchasing products longer than 2.4m, the customer may have to arrange for unloading.
 

Returning the goods

We are doing our best to pack goods purchased from us. Unfortunately, sometimes harm might be done during transportation. Even if you do not know if something is damaged or not, it is always good to take photos of arrived package on your smartphone, you will need those in case if any harm is done to the content.

If you can see signs of damaged packaging, please take following steps:

1. Take photos of package and make sure damage is visible.

2. Unpack your order and check if any products are harmed, take a photo of damaged item.

3. If there is a violation, please, inform us via email [email protected]

NB! For all claims of damaged or broken goods, you must make your claim within one (1) working day from the date of delivery. The Company must receive full details and description in written form with attached photos of the damaged goods.

When the buyer refuses to accept delivered goods that are not defective, he must pay the costs of returning the goods to us.
